As the Ontario Health Team (OHT) process continues province-wide, ICHA’s membership remains engaged in the process and its opportunities for our patients.

Dr. Aaron Orkin recently wrote an essay for Longwoods on the population health goals of the OHT process and how we can build a framework to ensure the capacity and expertise for clinical population medicine are included in OHTs.

Dr. Gary Bloch also wrote an essay for Longwoods contemplating the capacity of interprofessional teams brought together by the OHT process to rethink what we can include in healthcare, such as social and community services. A meaningful first step could be integrating the practice of social prescribing.
