Louisa Hong is a primary care physician who has been with ICHA since 2022. She has worked across several ICHA sites and is currently at the Toronto Plaza Hotel. She also works at Unison Health and Community Services, serving people who are of low socioeconomic status, refugees, or uninsured.
Louisa is committed to improving health outcomes for marginalized populations and to supporting colleagues through system-level improvement. She takes a service driven approach to leadership – identifying barriers in care and learning the skills to reduce them, such as seeking additional training in procedures, gender-affirming care, and psychotherapy. She is certified with the Canadian Board of Occupational Medicine and has collaborated with the ICHA Occupational Health and Safety Team to review and update health and safety policies. She also works as a liaison between Unison and ICHA to advocate for patients needing primary care.
Louisa sees board membership as an opportunity to bring grounded frontline insight, humility, and a deep commitment to health equity to the direction of ICHA. She hopes to help ensure our organization remains responsive, inclusive, and sustainable for the communities we serve.
