Kate Hayman (MD, MPH, FRCPC) is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and practices emergency medicine at the University Health Network, where she is a co-Lead for Health Equity in the emergency department. She joined Inner City Health Associates in April 2020 as a co-Medical Director of the COVID Recovery Site(s). She completed her emergency medicine training at the University of Western Ontario, and completed her Masters of Public Health at Johns Hopkins, concentrating in Health in Crisis and Humanitarian Emergencies. She is a co-chair of the Health Equity sub-committee of Global Health Emergency Medicine, which seeks to improve the health of patients in both domestic and international contexts by addressing inequities through clinical, educational, and advocacy-based interventions. She is a steering committee member of the Decent Work and Health Network. Dr. Hayman has also worked with Medecins Sans Frontieres in Iraq, Northeast Syria, and Mediterranean Search and Rescue.
